For the major overhauling generally the scope of work is as following:

• Measuring crankshaft deflection upon its installation and after engine reassembly.
• Perform standard overhaul of cylinder head: disassembly, cleaning, visual inspection,
  measurement readings, reassembly, pressure test; cleaning, inspection and measurement
  readings of in./exh. valves, valve seats and valve guides.
• Renewal of valves, renewal of rotators, renewal of valve guides, valve seat inserts and injector
  sleeve; grinding and lapping of valve and valve seat.
• Connecting rods - dismantle with piston, disassemble, inspect, measure small end pins and
  bushes, measure big-end bores with and without shells, check for damage (cracks) of big-end
  housing split mating surface, assemble with pistons, reassemble and install.
• Renew big-end bearing shells (crack test if necessary). Connecting rod bolt replacement.
• Pistons – disassemble. cleaning, inspection, measurements, replacement of all pistons, piston
  rings.
• Crank pin. Cleaning, checking and measuring.
• Cylinder Liner. Replacement with new if required
• Main Bearings. Dismantle, inspect, measure.
• Thrust Bearing. Measure the axial clearance of the crankshaft.
• Camshaft bearings. Inspect (measure oil clearance, check cams).
• Timing Gears. Clearance and backlash check.
• LO Pump. Perform standard overhaul: disassemble, clean, inspect, renew defective parts,
  reassemble with new seals and fasteners.
• CW Pump. Perform standard overhaul: disassemble, clean, inspect, renew defective parts,
  reassemble with new seals and fasteners.
• Fuel injection pump. Disassembling, checking, adjusting. Replacement of plunger elements,
  valves.
• Roller guide for fuel injection pump. Disassembling, cleaning, checking and measuring.
• Fuel injection valves. Disassembling, checking, adjusting. Replacement of nozzles if necessary.
• TC cartridge replacement, cleaning, TC air cooler inspection, cleaning.
